The Instituto de Cereais de Moçambique (ICM) attended the 4th China-Africa Economic and Trade Exhibition (CAETE), which took place in Kenya on May 9th. This event, the first large-scale one promoted by China in Africa, was held under the slogan "Joining hands for a better future". The exhibition brought together exhibitors from various sectors, such as construction, machinery and equipment, trade, logistics, medicines, food products and agriculture.

Chinese executives representing Fufeng Group, a global leader in biofermentation, met with the acting governor of Goiás, Daniel Vilela, to present the company's expansion project. At the meeting held on May 14th in Goiânia, investors stated that the contribution for the construction of a new manufacturing plant could exceed US$400 million.

Chinese exports of passenger vehicles to Brazil saw an exponential jump of 372.4% in the first four months of this year and totaled US$ 762 million. Chinese electric cars accounted for 36.2% of Brazil's total imports in the first four months of the year. With these figures, electric cars were the fourth product shipped by the Chinese to the country in the January-April period.

China will donate 1,200 tons of rice to São Tomé and Príncipe under an agreement signed on May 13 in the capital of São Tomé and Príncipe. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities, Gareth Guadalupe, and the Chinese ambassador, Xu YingZhen signed the agreement.

The Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, together with the community of Manatuto and the Vice-Governor of Hunan Province, Zhang Jian Fei, on May 5, 2024, celebrated ten years of friendship and cooperation between the Timorese city of Manatuto and Hunan Province of the People's Republic of China.

A delegation of 21 Chinese, including authorities, entrepreneurs and translators, was received by Governor Ronaldo Caiado on May 8th in Goiânia. The delegation, which includes representatives of 11 companies from the Asian country, is looking for investment opportunities in Goiás, mainly in the agricultural sector.

Leapmotor has just registered the C10, an SUV that can be both electric and plug-in hybrid, with the INPI (National Institute of Industrial Property). With a footprint of low-cost vehicles, the automaker already operates in this way in China and is starting its plans in Europe. The registration of the model is the first step towards the automaker actually demonstrating its intention to operate in the Brazilian market.

The agreement, signed by the president of the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce, Luís Cupeñala, and the president of the Angolan Bar Association, José Luís Domingos, aims to provide legal advice to Chinese investors and greater security for their interests.
