The Chinese delivery giant is preparing to set up an operation in Brazil. The company has been exploring the Brazilian market for many years. One example of this is that since March 2020, Meituan has had a registered trademark in Brazil. But only now has it decided that the time has come to enter the country, which should happen by the end of this year or early 2026 at the latest

In recent months, Meituan executives have been visiting Brazilian entrepreneurs and talking about the local market. The company is already negotiating with logistics operators and is setting up its tax structure to operate in Brazil.

Meituan operates in several areas in China, such as delivery, hotel reservations, digital tourism and urban transportation, but its core business is food delivery. In 2024, Meituan's revenue was approximately US$ 46 billion. And, according to estimates, the company made almost 30 billion deliveries in this period.
