The Rio de Janeiro branch of COSCO Shipping Lines (Brazil) was officially inaugurated on March 28, with the aim of transforming the Port of Rio de Janeiro into the company's new strategic hub for an integrated system of services on the east coast of South America.
COSCO Shipping pointed out that, as a crucial step towards consolidating its operations in Latin America, this initiative plans to develop, from Rio do Janeiro, an integrated system of “maritime transport + ports + logistics”, which aims to optimize the customer experience and boost economic and commercial development in the region.
In recent years, COSCO has been intensifying maritime routes to the Port of Rio and promoting the construction of inland corridors, including railroads, trucks and tax warehouses, which, together with the ports, facilitate the flow of trade between China and Brazil.
