On April 7, China's Vivo Mobile Communications announced the start of production of the company's cell phones in the Manaus Free Trade Zone. Vivo will sell its handsets in Brazil under the Jovi brand, announced the company, which in 2024 became the largest cell phone company in the world's largest market, China, ahead of Huawei and Apple.
“In addition to fostering local development, this decision ensures greater competitiveness, brings the brand closer to the Brazilian consumer and makes technical support and after-sales service more accessible - key factors in establishing trust between manufacturer and public,” said the company.
The specialized website Technoblog published in mid-March that Jovi already has a cell phone approved by the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel). According to Jovi, the brand's handsets are expected to hit the Brazilian market in the second quarter.
