On March 13, the Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), Ji Xianzheng received a delegation headed by the chairman of the Macau Association of Banks, Ip Sio Kai.

A new Representative to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao from Portugal, Ms Márcia Cordeiro Guerreiro, took up office on March 15. Ms. Márcia Cordeiro Guerreiro replaced Ms. Maria João Bonifácio, who had completed her term in office.

On 10 March, a delegation of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), led by Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng, went to Hengqin and attended the opening ceremony of 2023 “Let’s Hang Out – Lusophone and Macao Products Bazaar”. They also visited local enterprises in the In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.

From February 19 to 25, a delegation of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), led by Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng, visited Beijing and met with the ambassadors or representatives to China of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Timor-Leste.

February 21, a delegation of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), led by Secretary-General Mr Ji Xianzheng, visited Mr Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). February 20, a delegation of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), led by the Secretary-General, Mr Ji Xianzheng, visited the Department of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM).

February 15, the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) organized a Spring Festival media reception at the Mandarin Oriental, Macau, to exchange insights with responsible persons of the English-, Portuguese- and Chinese-language media of Macao. Mr Ji Xianzheng, the Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, attended the event and delivered a speech.

February 10, Mr. Rui Alberto de Figueiredo Soares, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration, Cabo Verde, visited the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao).

On January 6, Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), Mr. Ji Xianzheng received a delegation headed by the Deputy-Mayor of Chengdu Municipal People’s Government, Ms. Lin Nan.

The 14th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, hosted by the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, came to a successful conclusion. The series of activities of the Cultural Week have further promoted cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, enhanced mutual understanding among Macao, mainland China

Cristina Mangue Abeso arrived in Macao on November 30 to assume her new position as the first delegate of Equatorial Guinea to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. Equatorial Guinea joined Forum Macao at the Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting of Forum Macao held on April 10, 2022.

On November 25, a delegation of about 40 teachers and students from the Institute for Research on Portuguese-speaking Countries and Macau ‘One Belt, One Road’ Research Center of City University of Macau (CityU Macau), led by Ip Kuai Peng, the Pro-Rector of CityU Macau, visited the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) for exchanges and learning.
