The State University of Goiás (UEG) and Tsinghua University in Beijing, capital of China, will carry out joint research in the areas of climate change and innovative technologies in sustainable energy. The agreement signed with the Department of Engineering and Chemistry on 13 November was signed by the governor of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado.

UEG's rector, Professor Antonio Cruvinel, took part in the meeting via videoconference. "It will bear great fruit. The university will provide continuity and, in a short space of time, ensure that innovation and knowledge can be disseminated in Goiás. We are also open to taking the knowledge we have from UEG to China," said the manager.

Chinese professor Dehua Liu celebrated the success of the negotiations. "This is just the beginning and we hope to put our collaboration into practice. We want our work not just to be limited to the State University of Goiás, but to be expanded," he emphasised.
