Journalists from Mozambique’s public media receive AI training in China

Twenty-five journalists and professionals from Mozambican public media outlets and State institutions recently began specialised training in Artificial Intelligence in Beijing, with the objective of strengthening technical skills in the sector and preparing media professionals for the challenges of the digital age.

 

During the opening of the Seminar on Public Communication Studies for Mozambique, the Chinese authorities emphasised the use of AI as a tool to support public media professionals and reduce content production costs. The position was presented by Zhou Jihong, Director-General of the International Co-operation Department of the National Radio and Television Administration of China.

 

According to the Chinese official, the seminar aims to deepen the exchange of experience and strengthen practical co-operation in the areas of technical standards for audiovisual production, professional training and international communication, while exploring new paths for the development of media sector in the digital age.

 

For his part, the head of the Mozambican delegation, Teófilo Nhampossa, explained that the participation of media professionals in the training reflects the Mozambican Government’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of public communication professionals. The objective is to promote more effective and modern institutional communication, aligned with the interests of the State and society.
