The Brazil China Sociocultural Institute (Ibrachina), the São Paulo Department of Culture and Creative Economy and São Paulo Turismo (SPTuris) are lining up plans for cultural festivities that will strengthen ties between Brazil and China in the coming years. The initiative gains even more relevance with the arrival of 2026, which has been officially designated as the Brazil-China Cultural Year.

“We are building a robust program for 2025 and 2026, with major events that celebrate the culture of both countries and will bring incredible attractions to São Paulo,” said Thomas Law, president of Ibrachina.

The Brazil-China Cultural Year was formalized during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Brazil in November 2024, with the signing of a series of bilateral agreements. According to the document signed between the governments, the initiative aims to strengthen cultural ties and deepen mutual understanding between the two peoples, highlighting the diversity and creativity of their artistic expressions.
