On February 19, Aena, the concessionaire that manages Congonhas Airport in São Paulo, put into operation the first fleet of electric buses to transport passengers at airports in Brazil. With ten vehicles acquired, the initiative aims to offer greater comfort to travelers and reinforce the company's commitment to sustainability.

The new buses will be used for remote boarding and disembarking and will operate throughout the terminal's operating hours. Each unit is 12.2 meters long and has capacity for up to 80 passengers.

The new buses were developed in partnership with TEVX Higer, the Brazilian representative of China's Higer Bus, and underwent tests in November 2023 before their definitive implementation. The vehicles have advanced technology to ensure comfort and accessibility, including low floors for easy boarding, a suspension system adapted for people with reduced mobility, USB sockets in all seats, environmentally-friendly air conditioning with individual outlets and UV-treated windows.
