Several tire manufacturers, especially Chinese, are interested in setting up factories in Brazil. And LingLong, a Chinese manufacturer planning to invest an estimated R$1 billion, sent a delegation to Brazil last month to evaluate land in Sete Lagoas and Pouso Alegre, in Minas Gerais, and locations in the Northeast. Another Chinese company Sailun Tire intends to invest around R$2 billion.

LingLong and Sailun supply tires to BYD in China, which is about to begin production at its factory in Camaçari, Bahia, giving the northeastern state a huge advantage in attracting these companies.

XBRI Pneus, a Brazilian brand that currently outsources its production to other countries, such as China, is considering purchasing land measuring around 100 hectares in the industrial hub of Camaçari, in Bahia, to build a factory with the capacity to produce 5 million tires for cars and another 2 million for trucks.
