The governor of Piauí, Rafael Fonteles, participated on June 7 in the inauguration of the Marangatu Solar Complex, a project by SPIC Brasil, a Chinese company that is installing its first solar park in Brazil.
The newly opened park has the capacity to generate 446 MWp, enough to supply approximately 550 thousand homes per year. The installation of the project, according to the governor, exceeded expectations with the creation of more than 2,000 jobs.
According to the governor, the installation of another plant allows Piauí to attract the green products industry, starting with the production of green hydrogen, then moving on to the production of ammonia, methanol, green steel and green fertilizers.
"With Marangatu, SPIC Brasil takes an important step in the growth strategy for renewable energy in the country. And it is essential to have this partnership with Piauí", says Adriana Waltrick, CEO of SPIC Brasil.
