According to Brazil’s National Supply Company (Conab), coffee production in Brazil is expected to reach 67.6 million 60-kilogram bags in 2026, which would be a record and 19.6 per cent higher than in 2025. The forecast comes amid rising exports to China and new commercial initiatives between the two countries.

According to the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé), China imported 1.123 million bags of Brazilian coffee in 2025, 19.5 per cent more than in the previous year. This was the first time China had ranked among the top ten destinations for Brazilian coffee exports.

In April, a trade mission of 19 Brazilian businesspeople to Qingdao and Shanghai closed deals worth US$1.34 million. It also identified potential business worth an estimated US$108.55 million over the following 12 months, a figure that does not represent completed sales.

In the speciality coffee segment, Brazilian co-operative Expocacer has entered into a partnership with Chinese company Donna Jannie to sell small lots produced by women taking part in the Elas no Café programme in China. The first shipment left for Shanghai in June. In September, Luckin Coffee and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) took part in a pavilion dedicated to Brazil–China co-operation at the China International Fair for Investment and Trade, where initiatives related to the coffee value chain were presented.
