The Minister of Justice and Human Rights of Guinea-Bissau, João Bernardo Vieira, is representing the country at the inaugural meeting of the International Alliance for Combating Crime, being held in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province.

According to the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of Guinea-Bissau, the meeting brings together representatives from more than 130 countries, government leaders, representatives of the United Nations and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), as well as international experts in security and justice.

The meeting is being held under the theme “Joining Hands to Advance Public Security Governance and Inject Stability into a Turbulent World” and serves as a platform for strengthening international co-operation in combating crime and promoting public security.

According to the ministry, Guinea-Bissau’s participation demonstrates the Government’s commitment to international co-operation, peace and respect for human rights. During the meeting, the country will have the opportunity to share its experience, establish new partnerships and learn about international best practices aimed at strengthening justice and security institutions.

The initiative also aims to contribute to deeper co-operation between the countries and to develop joint responses to challenges related to crime and international security.
