The China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced on August 6 that it has won a long-term contract to trade 12 million barrels of crude oil from the Mero field in Brazil. This field is identified as the third largest oil field in ultra-deep pre-salt waters in the world.

The roads connecting Intaka-Boquisso, Matlemele-Matibwana and Khongolote-Molumbela, a total of 12 kilometers, in the Municipality of Matola, will benefit from asphalting works, within a period of nine months. The works that fall within the scope of the Urban Mobility project in the Maputo Metropolitan Area (MOVE-Maputo) are funded by the World Bank, estimated at around 1.4 billion meticais.
