YOFC, or Yangtze Optical Fiber and Cable, is increasing its investments in Brazil. In this country, the group predicts an increase in requests from internet service providers (ISPs) and large operators.

YOFC has contracts or specific closed with all the main operators in Brazil and around 800 ISPs to date, according to Reinaldo Jeronimo, CEO of YOFC Brasil. “We have seen new bids [for fiber] that anticipate a growth in demand. For 2025, the outlook is for an increase in market volume demand,” he said.

The company's factory in Brazil can produce 1.5 Mkm (million kilometers) of fiber per year, which can be expanded to 3 Mkm without major investments.

Among YOFC's new local contracts is one that provides for the supply of microcable technology to Telefónica Brasil, the market leader in the fiber broadband segment.
