The president of Banco do Nordeste (BNB), Paulo Câmara, received, on the 7th of June, at the bank’s headquarters, a visit from representatives of the Chinese Consulate and executives from the Chinese group CGN Brazil Energy.
The CEO of CGN in Brazil, Yao Zhigang, thanked BNB for the group’s support and presented new expansion projects. “We recently inaugurated a new headquarters in São Paulo, signaling our intention to continue investing in Brazil in the future”, he says.
Currently, the Bank is present in the CGN group’s energy projects, with total financing amounting to R$ 1.6 billion. The most recent project is for the Tanque Novo wind farm in Bahia, which has an installed capacity of 180 megawatts. BNB’s participation in this project is worth R$ 200 million.
During the visit, the group presented its intention to expand the operation by another R$355 million.
