The new Ambassador to Beijing of São Tomé and Príncipe, Ms Isabel Maya Jesus da Graça Domingos, accompanied by the country’s Representative in Forum Macao, Mr Gualter Cruz, visited on October 19 the headquarters of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. She held a meeting with Secretary-General Ms Xu Yingzhen, and Deputy Secretary-General Mr Ding Tian.

The Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Ms Xu Yingzhen, met on October 20 with the Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Augusto Santos Silva. The meeting was also attended by the three Deputy Secretaries-General of Forum Macao, Mr Ding Tian, Mr Rodrigo Brum and Ms Glória Batalha Ung.

A delegation from the Shandong Development and Reform Commission visited the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao on October 19. The group was headed by the Commission’s Deputy Director of the Provincial Major Project Promotion Office, Mr Sun Laibin.

The Angola Visual Arts Exhibition and the Cabo Verde Visual Arts Exhibition were opened for public viewing starting on October 13, at the Taipa Houses. The exhibitions – “We are Stars” by Angolan artist Mr Guilherme Mampuya, and “Creole Orchestra” by Mr Tutu Sousa from Cabo Verde – are part of the 10th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries

The Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) – as a partner institution of the 23rd Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) – has set up a Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Pavilion at the trade show.

The Secretary-General of Forum Macao, Ms Xu Yingzhen, met on October 16 with a delegation from Portuguese news agency Agência Lusa. The visiting party was headed by Mr Nicolau Santos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Agência Lusa.

A celebratory dinner for the 15th anniversary of the establishment of Forum Macao and 10th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries was held on October 16 at Macau Fisherman’s Wharf.

A delegation of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) visited Guangzhou, in Guangdong Province, from October 14 to 15, to participate in the 124th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair). The aim of the visit was to promote trade and economic cooperation between businesses from Mainland China, Macao and the Portuguese-speaking Countries, and to boost exchanges within the Greater Bay Area.

The art exhibition “CHINA, North.South”, by Macao artist Victor Marreiros, was inaugurated on October 15, at 6:30pm. The showcase is being held at the Residence of the Consulate-General of Portugal in Macao.
