Opening of visual arts exhibitions of 11th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries

Visual arts exhibitions – part of the programme of the 11th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries – are taking place from October 12 to November 9. The Cultural Week is hosted by the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. The art exhibitions aim to offer locals and tourists a fresh take on art from China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries.


There is a total of three such exhibitions as part of the 11th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. One features artwork by 20 Macao youth artists, and is being staged at the Gallery in the Official Residence of the Portuguese Consul-General in Macao and Hong Kong. Another is a showcase called “Sliding Horizons” featuring artwork by Brazilian artist Rodrigo Braga. The third, “Other Gazes”, is an exhibition by Chipi, an artist from Guinea-Bissau.


The latter two exhibitions are being held at Macau Fisherman’s Wharf. An opening ceremony for them took place on October 12 at 4.30pm. Guests attending the event included: the Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Ms Xu Yingzhen; Consul of Brazil in Hong Kong and Macao cum Representative of Brazil in the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Mr Rafael Paulino; and the Director of Culture at the State Secretariat of Culture of Guinea-Bissau, Ms Minhone Seidi.
