On the morning of 13 April 2026, Si Ka Lon, President of the Guangdong and Macao Federation of Industry and Commerce (hereinafter referred to as the “Federation”), led a business delegation on a visit to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, where the two sides held exchanges on jointly promoting economic and trade co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.

On the morning of 10 April 2026, the opening ceremony of the 14th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo was held. Dr Ji Xianzheng, Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, accompanied by other members of the Secretariat, attended the ceremony and visited the pavilion of the “Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao)”.

On 27 March, the closing ceremony of the Colloquium on Public Health and Disease Prevention and Control between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, co-organised by the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) and the Health Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, was held at the Galaxy International Convention Center in Macao.

From 25 to 26 March, the delegation of the 21st Ordinary Meeting of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao paid an exchange visit to Shenzhen, with the aim of strengthening co-operation and exchanges between the Portuguese-speaking countries and the city in the fields of trade, science and technology, and culture.

On 24 March, the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) held its 21st Ordinary Meeting in Macao.

On the afternoon of 20 March, a delegation led by Dr Yin Nianhong, Mayor of the Zhongshan Municipal Government, visited the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao).

On 11 March, the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) hosted, at the Macau Tower, the Spring Festival Reception for media organisations, during which it exchanged views with heads and representatives of Portuguese- language, English-language, and Chinese-language media organisations in Macao.

From 9 to 13 February, Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao led a delegation of the Secretariat on a visit to Beijing to solicit opinions and suggestions from representatives of the Forum’s organisers and participating parties on the 2025 work summary and the 2026 work plan.

On December 2, Ms. Maria Gustava, Ambassador of Mozambique to China and Head of the diplomatic mission of Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs) to China, visited the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) (Forum Macao) and attended a farewell reception.

On December 1, Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng led the full delegation of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) on a courtesy visit to the Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, Mr Tai Kin Ip.

On November 28, 2025—marking the 50th anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste—the Minister of Planning and Strategic Investment of Timor-Leste, Mr Gastão Fernando de Sousa, led a delegation on a visit to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao).

On November 13, Dalva Maurícia Calombo Ringote Allen, Ambassador of Angola to China, led a delegation to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao.
