Forum Macao’s Secretary-General meets with Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs

The Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Ms Xu Yingzhen, met on October 20 with the Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Augusto Santos Silva. The meeting was also attended by the three Deputy Secretaries-General of Forum Macao, Mr Ding Tian, Mr Rodrigo Brum and Ms Glória Batalha Ung.


During the meeting, Ms Xu provided a brief introduction about the development of Forum Macao and the Permanent Secretariat’s work. Both sides discussed deepening cooperation, and exchanged views regarding further strengthening Portugal’s role within the scope of Forum Macao, making use of Macao’s role as a cooperation platform between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries.


Other attendees included: Portugal’s Ambassador to Beijing, Mr José Augusto Duarte; the Portuguese Secretary of State of Internationalisation, Mr Eurico Brilhante Dias; the Consul-General of Portugal in Macao, Mr Paulo Cunha Alves; the General Director for Foreign Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, Mr Pedro Costa Pereira; the President of the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal, Mr Luís Castro Henriques, and Portugal’s Representative in Forum Macao, Ms Maria João Bonifácio.
