A delegation from the Shandong Development and Reform Commission visited the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao on October 19. The group was headed by the Commission’s Deputy Director of the Provincial Major Project Promotion Office, Mr Sun Laibin.

Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao Mr Ding Tian made a presentation to the delegation on the results achieved by Forum Macao since it was established 15 years ago. He noted that the Permanent Secretariat actively maintained exchanges with provinces and municipalities from Mainland China, in order to help create a bridge for cooperation between the Mainland, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries.

Mr. Sun stated that the setting up of a Shandong Province Pavilion at the 2018 edition of the Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) was aimed at promoting the province’s business and investment environment, as well as its economic and trade sectors. Making the most of its time in Macao, the delegation had decided to pay a visit to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, to discuss potential cooperation opportunities.

Other members of the Shandong delegation attending the visit to Forum Macao included: the Head of the Division of Foreign Capital and Overseas Investment of the Shandong Development and Reform Commission, Ms Li Yuerui; and Mr Zhang Jixi, a representative of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Division of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shandong Provincial People’s Government.
