On June 17, the new representative of São Tomé and Príncipe to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Pedro Jorge de Abreu e Carvalho, took office, succeeding the previous Representative, Gika Makeba da Graça Simão.
Pedro Jorge de Abreu e Carvalho holds a post-baccalaureate diploma in Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations. Since 2012, he has served as the technician for the Água Grande District Council, member of the National Assembly, and director of the Department at the National Assembly of São Tomé and Príncipe. This new representative boasts a wealth of management experience and is fluent in several languages, including Portuguese (his mother language), English, and Spanish.
