A delegation from the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) – also known as Forum Macao – took part in the 121st Canton Fair, in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, on April 14 and 15. Mr Vicente Manuel, Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, led the delegation.
The group took part in Canton Fair’s official opening reception. The Forum Macao representatives also toured the Fair’s venue, at the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center, and visited Forum Macao’s booth at the event.
The Canton Fair has become an important platform regarding economic and trade co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, as several companies from Portuguese-speaking Countries have shown an interest in exploring business opportunities involving the Mainland China market.
Each year, the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao takes part in the Canton Fair, setting up a booth at the trade show with the aim of promoting: Forum Macao’s work; the business and investment environments of the Portuguese-speaking Countries; Macao’s role as a platform for economic and trade co-operation; and the joint development of companies from, respectively, Mainland China, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries.
Members of the delegation from the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao included: the Deputy Secretary-General, Mr Vicente Manuel; the Coordinator of the Executive Office, Mr Hu Huajun; the Coordinator of the Liaison Office and Representative of Guinea-Bissau, Mr Malam Camará; the Representative of Angola, Mr Belarmino Barbosa; and the Representative of Cape Verde, Mr Mário Vicente.
