Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), Mr Ding Tian, received on December 9 and 10 delegations from, respectively, the Department of Commerce of Fujian Province; the Financial Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin; the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province; the Dongguan Chamber of Commerce; and the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Congress.

Deputy Secretary-General Mr Ding held meetings with respectively Mr Hang Dong, Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Fujian Province; Mr Shen Yumou, Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province; Mr Zheng Wenzhi, Vice-President of the Dongguan Chamber of Commerce; and Mr Ren Guoming, Director of the Working Committee of Shenzhen Municipal People’s Congress. 

In the meetings, Mr Ding gave a brief presentation about Forum Macao and its work in recent years. He also exchanged views with the delegations about the promotion of Macao’s role as a platform, in order to strengthen cooperation between all sides, and to boost the economic and trade between Portuguese-speaking countries and Mainland China provinces and municipalities.

Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Mr Casimiro de Jesus Pinto, and the Coordinator of the Support Office of Forum Macao, Ms Teresa Mok, also attended the meeting with the Acting Director-General of the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Co-operation Zone in Hengqin, Mr Antonio Lei. The two sides exchanged opinions on how Macao could support the development of the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.
