The Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) is taking part in the 26th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) and the 2021 Portuguese-Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao) (PLPEX). The concurrent events kicked off on December 10. As in previous editions, the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao set up a Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Pavilion at MIF, to promote Macao’s “One Centre, One Platform and One Base” strategic vision.

As a partner organisation of MIF, the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao has set up a Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Pavilion at the tradeshow; in addition, it is concurrently showcasing and promoting iconic products from Portuguese-speaking Countries at PLEX. The goal of Forum Macao’s participation in the two events is to give full play to Macao’s role as a trade service cooperation platform between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries.

On the afternoon of November 10, Forum Macao Deputy Secretary-General Mr Paulo Jorge do Espírito Santo and Representatives from the Portuguese-speaking Countries to Forum Macao attended the International Gemstone and Diamond Trade Summit, held as part of MIF.

The pavilion features eight stands, one per Portuguese-speaking Country, i.e.: Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Timor-Leste. The pavilion includes information displays, photographs, videos and product showcases, providing visitors an overview of the respective business and investment environment in each Portuguese-speaking Country. In addition, it also promotes Forum Macao and Macao’s role as a platform for economic and trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. Staff are being made available on site to facilitate exchanges between businesspeople respectively from China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries.
