The new Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), Ms Xu Yingzhen, took office on August 11.

Ms Xu served for several years as Commercial Counsellor of the Department of American and Oceanian Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce of China (equivalent to Director-General level).

The new Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao has extensive experience in foreign affairs and good knowledge of the markets of Portuguese-speaking Countries. She also provided support to previous editions of the Ministerial Conferences of Forum Macao.

Since arriving to Macao last month, Ms Xu has paid several courtesy visits to: the Secretary for Economy and Finance, Mr Lionel Leong; the consular representatives of Portuguese-speaking Countries in Macao; and various services and entities of the MSAR Government.
