On October 15, the Agostinho Neto University (UAN) and the Renmin University of China (RUC) formalized a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of strengthening academic, scientific and cultural cooperation between the two institutions. The meeting was attended by the Minister for Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Paula Regina de Oliveira Simões, and a Chinese delegation from RUC, led by the Chairman of the RUC’s Board, Zhang Donggang and the Chinese ambassador to Angola, Zhang Bin.

Under this Memorandum, the cooperation is planned in various strategic areas, such as the mobility of teachers and researchers, as well as the sharing of good practices in academic management and research.

After the signing of the Memorandum, the Chinese delegation visited the campus of UAN with the lead of Angolan Minister, especially focusing on the Confucius Institute, which reinforced the cultural and educational ties between the two countries.
