Haishan Group establish base in Macau for business expansion to Portuguese-speaking countries

Following the cooperation results of the Entrepreneurs' Meeting for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries 2024, successfully held in Luanda, Angola, in July this year, the China-Angola Investment and Economic Cooperation Presentation Forum was held during the 29th Macau International Fair (29th MIF). On this occasion, the Haishan Group held a ceremony to unveil the headstone for the establishment of Portuguese-speaking countries operations in Macau. 


The inauguration of its new base in Macau aims to expand its operations from Angola to other Portuguese-speaking countries. Zheng Gang, the chairman of the Chinese conglomerate, highlighted Macau's advantages as an ideal platform for connecting China and Portuguese-speaking markets, due to its developed workforce and developed policies. He also expressed the hope that more Chinese companies could set up in Macau, generating economic scale effect in trade, logistics and information exchange.


The Haishan Group has already been present in Angola since 2005 and has invested around 500 million dollars in more than 125 projects in the areas of mining and infrastructure construction. Recently, the Haishan Group announced an investment of one billion dollars to develop an aquaculture project, a “technology city” and a real estate project over next five years.
