Brazilian coffee exports to China could reach US$800 million this year, says the Secretary of Commerce and International Relations at the Ministry of Agriculture, Roberto Perosa.

“In 2022, Brazil exported US$80 million in coffee to China. In 2023, we will export US$280 million and this year we can export almost US$800 million in coffee to China with a contract signed with Luckin Coffee, a Chinese coffee chain, worth US$500 million”, highlighted Perosa, during the event “ Brazil and China, 50 years of friendship; green finance, decarbonization and investments”. “This is a result of health, the quality of Brazilian coffee and also a result of Brazil’s relationship with China”, added Perosa.

The secretary highlighted that China is currently the main importer of several Brazilian agricultural chains, such as soybeans, meat and cotton. “Of everything China imports, only 5% comes from Brazil. There is a vast potential field”, highlighted the secretary of the department.
