The new generation of mobile internet, 5.5G, has attracted the interest of large telcos in Brazil, whose launch to the public should take place soon. "Operators are certainly moving toward this," said Huawei's president for Latin America, Daniel Zhou, in an interview with Broadcast.

In Brazil, Huawei plays a crucial role, being the supplier of the country's three main operators: Vivo, TIM and Claro. Zhou explained that 5.5G in Brazil only requires an update of network equipment, without operational tests carried out from scratch.

5.5G promises several times greater speed. In 5G, the download speed is around 300 megabits per second (Mbps), reaching peaks of 1 gigabit per second (Gbps). In 5.5G, it is estimated to reach up to 10 Gbps.
