Brazilian government discusses preparation for Cosban meeting with Brazil-China Business Council

The Brazil-China Business Council received the executive secretary of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), Márcio Elias Rosa, on February 23, to discuss the government's perspective regarding the next Sino-Brazilian Commission meeting. High Level of Concertation and Cooperation (COSBAN), which will be held in Beijing, on June 5 and 6.


The meeting was attended by representatives of large companies, such as Banco do Brasil, Bradesco, Embraer, JBS, Klabin, Suzano and Vale.


At the meeting, Elias Rosa made a general assessment of bilateral relations and opportunities associated with trade and investment between the two countries.


This year, Brazil and China celebrate 50 years of bilateral relationship. In the last two decades, China has gained great prominence in Brazilian foreign trade, being the country's main trading partner since 2009. Exports, in 2023, reached the historic mark of US$ 104 billion.
