The China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Trade and Investment Fair in the northeastern Chinese city of Shenyang, the provincial capital of Liaoning, has ended after seven busy days, the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) says.

IPIM issued a written statement saying that during the fair the institute sought to promote exchanges among organs of government and enterprises with a view to increasing trade and other forms of economic co-operation between Portuguese-speaking countries on the one hand and Macao and Liaoning on the other.

The statement says IPIM Executive Director Glória Batalha Ung visited various Liaoning trade bodies, and attended negotiations and other exchanges between representatives of companies in Portuguese-speaking countries and companies in Liaoning.

Liaoning foreign affairs chief Ying Zhongyuan said the provincial government would support Liaoning enterprises that, in seeking to tap markets in the lusophone world, made use of Macao as a place for China and Portuguese-speaking countries to conduct business.

The official invited representatives of governments and companies in Portuguese-speaking countries and Macao to tap markets in Liaoning.
