Chinese Ambassador to Brazil Li Jinzhang has his country and Brazil have built a solid foundation for co-operation in energy, but need to co-operate more in clean energy, Xinhua reports.
The Chinese government-run news agency quotes Mr. Li as saying: “We need to boost cooperation on technology and investments in new, renewable energy. We put a lot of trust in this cooperation.”
The ambassador told a seminar in Rio de Janeiro that Brazil had plenty of potential to generate hydroelectric, wind and solar power.
Representatives of China, Brazil, Uruguay and Chile attended the seminar.
“Brazil-China co-operation is a strong role model for Latin America and the entire world,” Xinhua quotes Mr. Li as saying.
