Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$20.400 billion in the period from January to February 2018. It represented a 37.43 percent increase year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.

Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$13.857 billion to China in the first two months of 2018 – a rise of 34.76 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$6.543 billion in the same period, up by 43.44 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.

The total value of merchandise traded in February between the parties topped US$9.958 billion, down by 4.64 percent from the previous month.

The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$6.642 billion, down 7.94 percent month-to-month, according to Chinese official data. China sold goods to those countries worth US$3.316 billion in February, an increase of 2.75 percent compared with January.
