Trade between China, Portuguese-speaking Countries tops US$30.2 bln in January-March 2018

Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$30.188 billion in the period from January to March 2018. It represented a 25.91 percent increase year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.


Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$21.015 billion to China in the first three months of 2018 – a rise of 24.36 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$9.173 billion in the same period, up by 29.62 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.


The total value of merchandise traded in March between the parties topped US$9.788 billion, down by 1.71 percent from the previous month.


The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$7.157 billion, up by 7.76 percent month-to-month, according to Chinese official data. China sold goods to those countries worth US$2.630 billion in March, a decrease of 20.67 percent compared with February.
