Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$11.192 billion in the first two months of 2016. It represented a 25.54 percent decline year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.
Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$7.154 billion to China in the January-February period – an increase of 0.95 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$4.038 billion in the same period, down by 49.16 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.
The total value of merchandise traded in February between the parties topped US$5.034 billion, a decline of 18.26 percent from the previous month.
The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$3.347 billion, down by 12.06 percent month-to-month, according to Chinese official data. China sold goods to those countries worth US$1.687 billion in February, down by 28.28 percent compared with January.
