China offers over 1,000 tons of rice to the government of Guinea Bissau

The government of the People’s Republic of China has offered the Guinean government 1,062 tonnes of rice, which corresponds to 21,239 50-kilogram sacks of rice to support the economically needy population, as part of emergency humanitarian aid.  

The donation was delivered on the 13th of March, 2023, by the Chinese ambassador to Guinea-Bissau, Guo Ce, to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Communities, Suzi Carla Barbosa, in the presence of Califa Soares Cassamá, head of the Office of the President of the Republic of Guinea Bissau.

Representing the President of Guinea-Bissau, Califa Soares Cassamá said that the 21,239 bags of rice would be distributed in all regions of Guinea-Bissau and the distribution operation would begin soon.

China is a very important and strategic partner of Guinea-Bissau. The results of cooperation speak for themselves in the infrastructure and health sector and in food security, referred the head.
