Suzano Papel e Celulose, a Brazilian pulp production company and world leader in the paper market, inaugurated on the 21st of March at the Zhangjiang Science City in Shanghai its Innovation Center, which is the company’s first of its kind in Asia.

The Suzano China Innovation Center aims to meet evolving needs of customers for pulp and new materials and contribute to China’s low-carbon strategy.

“The Innovation Center is willing to participate in the repositioning of the Chinese pulp, paper and bio-based materials industries and, more importantly, to contribute to the advancement of China’s carbon neutrality goal,” said Pablo Machado, president of business operations for the company’s Asia.

At the opening ceremony, several strategic cooperation agreements with Chinese institutions and universities on research and development of bio-based materials were also signed.
