On the 21st of March, the Minister of Education, Culture and Science of São Tomé and Príncipe, Isabel de Abreu, inaugurated a new classroom at D.ª Maria de Jesus primary school, sponsored by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China.
The new classroom is equipped with a blackboard, desks and other materials and has a capacity for up to 40 students.
In the presence of the Chinese ambassador to São Tomé and Príncipe, Xu Yingzhen, and the students of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades, the minister Isabel de Abreu thanked the support offered by China and advised the students to be more careful with the materials installed in the new classroom and to study harder to contribute to the development of the country.
The ambassador of the People’s Republic of China recalled that China remains available to help São Tomé and Príncipe in the area of education and training, and advised the students to study and not give up their dreams.
