On October 18, in Luanda, the President of Angola, João Lourenço, discussed the Lobito Refinery construction project during an audience with the CEO of the Chinese state company China National Chemical Engineering (CNCE), Weng Gang.
At the end of the hearing, Weng Gang told the press that it was mainly to discuss the Lobito refinery project, guarantee its reconstruction and expansion, as well as the delivery of the project before the end of 2026.
The Minister for Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, said that the experience of working with CNCE was positive, since it had worked on the expansion of the Luanda Refinery. Once delivered, the Lobito Refinery will have the capacity to process 200,000 barrels a day.
