China’s Ambassador to Brazil, Zhu Qingqiao, recently met Brazilian journalists in Brasília at a meeting focused on Chinese modernisation and strengthening exchanges between media organisations from the two countries.

During the meeting, the diplomat outlined the main pillars of China’s modernisation model, highlighting economic development alongside social justice, technological innovation, environmental protection and the promotion of national culture. He also noted the country’s advances in renewable energy, particularly solar and wind power, as well as its investment in scientific research and digital transformation.

The meeting also addressed the development of artificial intelligence and the challenges of its global governance. Zhu Qingqiao said that the development of the technology should be accompanied by mechanisms promoting security, inclusion and international co-operation. He also underlined that China and Brazil shared similar positions on the need to promote responsible innovation and scientific development.

The Ambassador reaffirmed China’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Brazil, highlighting the expansion of bilateral co-operation in trade, science, technology, innovation and sustainable development.
