The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Cabo Verde, Zhang Yang, recently expressed his country's willingness and openness to partnership and co-operation initiatives with ALFA Group.

According to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Cabo Verde, co-operation with ALFA Group could cover training actions, study visits and exchanges in China, as well as the supply of equipment, with the aim of improving the performance of the media outlets that make up the group, particularly Rádio ALFA.

The General President of ALFA Group, Fernando Ortet, took the opportunity to thank China for its “extraordinary contribution” to Cabo Verde's development, reflected in its economic and social growth, and in the strengthening of the country's institutional capacity.

For his part, Ambassador Zhang Yang reiterated that China is willing to further strengthen its support for the development of Cabo Verde. During the visit, the Ambassador also led a delegation in paying tribute at the Amílcar Cabral Memorial. The diplomat underlined that Amílcar Cabral was an important leader of Cabo Verde’s independence movement, and that his ideals continue to serve as an important reference for China in deepening and developing relations with the African country.
