The Chinese manufacturer of optical fibers YOFC is arriving in Brazil with the installation of a factory in the Minas Gerais city of Pouso Alegre. The official opening will take place on the 9th of September. YOFC is concluding the factory's certification with Anatel.
The CEO for Brazil at YOFC, Reinaldo Jeronymo, says that deliveries already contracted for Brazilian customers with the group will be transferred to the new plant. The Pouso Alegre plant has the capacity to produce R$ 1.2 million kilometers of fiber per year.
"We are going to initially produce optical cables, pre-connectorized cables, hybrid cables, electro-optics. In three years, we want to produce OPGW and terrestrial-marine cables", he says.
