Trade between China, Portuguese-speaking Countries tops US$29.175 bln in January-February 2025

Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$29.175 billion iin the period from January to February 2025. It represented a 23.06 percent decrease year-on-year, according to data from China Customs. Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$16.979 billion to China in the two month of 2025 – a decrease of 30.75 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$12.197 billion in the same period, down 9 percent year-on-year.


The total value of merchandise traded in February between the parties topped US$13.329 billion, a decrease of 26.03 percent from the prior-year period. The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$8.544 billion, down 24.88 percent year-to-year, according to Chinese official data. China sold goods to those countries worth US$4.785 billion in March, a decrease of 28.01 percent compared with the previous year.
