Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$15.846 billion in January 2025. It represented a 20.37 percent decrease year-on-year, according to data from China Customs. Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$8.435 billion to China in the first month of 2025 – a decrease of 35.83 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$7.411 billion in the same period, up 9.7 percent year-on-year.
