The cargo ship GREEN RIO DE JANEIRO departed on the December 29 from the Port of Gaolan, in the Economic and Technological Development Zone of Zhuhai, in southern China, heading to Brazil, packed with fertilizers, printing inks and electromagnetic furnaces, marking the inauguration of the sea route Porto Gaolan(Zhuhai) - Brazil.

The cargo ship is designed for a load of 77 thousand tons and a range of 25 thousand nautical miles. The international route mentioned above was initiated and operated by COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers Co., Ltd., and, according to the current schedule, should be operated on a two-month frequency between freighters.

Based at Gaolan Port, the Zhuhai Economic and Technological Development Zone was able to open this new economic and trade route with Latin America, thus injecting new momentum into its integration with global industrial and supply chains.

The newly opened international sea route will significantly reduce freight costs and transportation time between the two regions while offering more opportunities in trade, investment and technological exchange between Zhuhai and the northern region of Brazil.
