On November 28, the Brazilian Minister of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Carlos Fávaro, met with representatives of organizations that are part of the Agro-innovation Alliance. The agenda of this meeting includes the discussion strengthening the relationship between Brazil and China in the agricultural sector, with a focus on agricultural biotechnology.
On the occasion, the minister stressed the importance of synchronized cooperation between the two countries in the development of new technologies, capable of increasing productivity and expanding the supply of products for sale.
Fávaro said that the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and the Alliance entities are working on a memorandum to address issues related to asynchrony in the approval of biotechnologies and need to speed up approval processes in Brazil to strengthen Brazil-China relations.
