At a meeting held on October 17 in the Chinese capital with a high-level delegation from Brazil, led by the Brazilian President's Chief of Staff, Rui Costa, the Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, stressed the importance of comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries.
According to the diplomat, the collaboration serves the fundamental interests of both peoples and exemplifies the solidarity between the countries of the Global South. Wang also reaffirmed China's confidence in Brazil's development and its willingness to take advantage of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations to strengthen the strategic partnership and build a community with a shared future.
Rui Costa expressed Brazil's interest in deepening practical cooperation with China in areas such as the economy, trade, finance and technological innovation. Costa stressed that Brazil seeks to achieve “tangible results” in these areas and to take the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries to a new level, contributing to “global stability and justice”.
