On October 8, the representatives of the Brazil-China Parliamentary Group received a Chinese delegation from Zhuhai, Guangdong province, to discuss strategies for expanding cooperation between the two countries. The meeting took place in the meeting room of the chair of the Labor Committee in the Chamber of Deputies. The President of the Brazil-China Parliamentary Group, the Deputy Daniel Almeida, discussed the possibility of investments in Brazilian territory with the head of the Chinese delegation, Zhu Chuangxin.

Almeida pointed out that one of the strategic issues discussed was the creation of a direct maritime route between the southern Chinese city of Zhuhai, and Brazil. This route could be established with ships leaving directly from this Chinese region and arriving at a port in Amapá, integrating Bahia, in Brazil, which would shorten travel times by up to 30 days.

China and Brazil also discussed investments in railways, biofertilizers, the recovery of degraded land and carbon sequestration.
