On September 23, the 2nd Conference of Central Bank Governors and Financial Officials between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, organized by the Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM), was held in Macao.
During the conference, the Monetary Authority of Macao Special Administrative Region, in China, signed the first cooperation and information sharing agreement with the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB).
The agreement with the Monetary Authority of Macao “reinforces the commitment” of the Brazilian Central Bank “to cooperation and the Portuguese-speaking community” and represents “another opportunity for exchange that reinforces innovation”, stated Ailton de Aquino Santos, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Brazil.
The Monetary Authority pointed out the agreements and events as signs of the commitment to “consolidate Macau's role as a financial services platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries”.
